1. Scope
These Terms govern the provision of the App and the relationship between you and the developer (the "Developer"). By using the App you agree to these Terms.
2. What the App does
The App is an iOS application that recognises and translates text in images you capture or select, in what the camera is pointed at, in the audio playing on your device or picked up by the microphone, and in the content shown on your own screen, and displays the result on your device. Translations are machine translations and are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete; do not rely on them for medical, legal or contractual decisions. Please use the App only for your own private use of the content you are translating. Translation history is stored only on your device and is not sent to the developer's servers. The App does not record audio or video.
3. Plans
The App is offered under the following plans.
- Standard — Free. Every translation feature is available with no usage limit. To cover running costs the app shows a banner at the bottom of the screen and full-screen ads at natural breaks (at most 10 a day). Full-screen ads never appear in the middle of camera, conversation or live translation
- Ad-Free (optional) — Monthly auto-renewing subscription (see the App Store for the price in your country). Removes the banner and full-screen ads. Features are the same as Standard. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and the subscription renews every month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Cancel any time under Subscriptions in your App Store account settings. 4. Auto-renewal and cancellation
Monthly and annual PRO plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. Please note:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal after purchase in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
5. Refunds
Refunds are handled under Apple's policy. To request one, use Apple's Report a Problem page (https://reportaproblem.apple.com/).
6. Prohibited conduct
When using the App you must not:
- act unlawfully or contrary to public order and morals;
- reverse engineer, modify, copy or redistribute the App;
- interfere with the operation of the App;
- infringe the rights of other users or third parties;
- circumvent payment by improper means.
7. Disclaimer
The App is a supporting tool. To the extent permitted by law, the Developer accepts no liability for:
- the accuracy or currency of data you enter, or of any translation the App produces;
- financial loss or data loss arising from use of the App;
- malfunctions, network failures or server failures;
- the behaviour or content of third-party services such as Google AdMob.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where you use the App as a consumer, you keep the statutory rights available to you under the law of your country of residence.
8. Intellectual property
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the App and all related content (code, design, text and so on) belong to the Developer or the respective rights holders.
9. Changes to and discontinuation of the App
The Developer may change, add to or remove features of the App, and may suspend or discontinue the App, without prior notice.
10. Changes to these Terms
The Developer may amend these Terms at any time where it becomes necessary to do so. Amended Terms take effect when posted in the App or on this site.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the court with jurisdiction over the Developer's location shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising in connection with the App. If you use the App as a consumer resident outside Japan, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
