About Kikitori
Kikitori turns your recordings into text entirely on your iPhone. There is no limit on length, on how many recordings you make, or on file size. Your audio is never sent anywhere — the app has no route to send it. Text appears while you are still speaking, paragraphs are split at pauses, and each one is stamped with its time. You can also bring in audio files you already have, which the built-in Voice Memos app cannot transcribe. After transcription it writes a short summary with the key points and any tasks that were agreed.

Frequently asked questions
What does Kikitori do?
Kikitori turns speech into text on your iPhone or iPad. Record a meeting, an interview or a lecture and the text appears while people are still speaking, split into paragraphs at pauses with a timestamp on each. You can also import audio files recorded elsewhere. Afterwards you can read a short summary, search across all your recordings and export the text.
Is there a limit on minutes? Is it really free?
There is no limit on minutes, on the number of recordings or on file size, and the app is free. Transcription runs on your device, so there is no server cost to pass on. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription; the app shows a small banner ad.
Is my audio sent to a server?
No. Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition, and recordings and transcripts are stored only on the device. Nothing is sent to the developer, who runs no servers. The only download is the transcription data for a language, fetched from Apple once.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after the first download. The first time you use a language, the app shows the size of its transcription data (up to about 200 MB or about 350 MB depending on the type) and downloads it after you confirm. From then on it works without a connection, including in airplane mode.
Can it transcribe audio files I already have?
Yes. You can import audio recorded in other apps or on other devices and transcribe it in the same way as a new recording.
Does it identify who is speaking?
No. Kikitori does not label speakers. It splits the transcript into paragraphs at pauses and stamps each paragraph with its time.
Can it summarize a meeting?
Yes. After transcription it writes a few lines on what the recording was about, the key points and what was agreed. The summary is made on the device.
What can I export?
Plain text (.txt), a subtitle file (.srt) with timestamps, or the original audio.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 26.0 or later.
